Lunch will be provided for all registrants! Please RSVP and join us in person or join us by Zoom here!
This work-in-progress talk will explore the prevalence and impact of medical misinformation within social media forums used by Bangladeshi and Bangladeshi American communities. By examining platforms such as Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, and WhatsApp, the research aims to identify common health-related misconceptions, analyze the mechanisms in place to combat misinformation, and assess the resulting levels of trust in the healthcare system. The study seeks to shed light on the broader implications of digital misinformation on public health and inform strategies to foster greater trust and accuracy in health communications among these communities.
