Remember Pearl Harbor to Never Forget 9/11: Teaching Japanese American and Muslim American Histories
Commemorating the 20th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, Tadaima will present a panel discussion to acknowledge and discuss the similarities and differences between the parallel experiences of Japanese Americans after Pearl Harbor and Muslim Americans post-9/11.
Moderator:
Rob Buscher, Japanese American media scholar, and ASAM Lecturer.
Panelists:
Dr. Fariha Khan, Co-Director of the Asian American Studies Program at the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Ahmet Selim Tekelioglu, Education and Outreach Director at the Philadelphia Chapter of Council on American-Islamic Relations.
