BYSTANDER INTERVENTION – HOW TO SHOW UP FOR OTHERS – presented by hollaback!
Wednesday, December 9th, 6:30pm-8:00pm ET (US and Canada)
This program, a part of a discussion series sponsored by the University of Pennsylvania Task Force on Supporting Asian and Asian American Students and Scholars at Penn (TAASS), Pan-Asian-American Community House (PAACH), and Penn Global, features a training from the hollaback! organization. hollaback! is a nationally recognized non-profit working to end harassment – in all its forms (including harassment due to gender, sexual orientation, sexual identity, ethnicity, and/or race).
This is an event for all members of the Penn community (undergraduate students, grad/professional students, alumni, post-docs, faculty, & staff) as well as friends and family members.
In this training our goal is to give participants the tools to intervene the next time they witness harassment. We will equip you with the right information on how to be an effective bystander in the midst of public space harassment using hollaback!’s proven 5D’s methodology, our five strategies for intervention. Then we will practice so you leave our training feeling more prepared to successfully and safely intervene.
