Dede I Brought You Back (2019)

Students and friends are invited to a world premiere screening of the special documentary DEDE I BROUGHT YOU BACK, and an after party celebrating filmmaker Morgan Kroon. DEDE is a film about a Canadian mother and daughter who return to China when the grandparents have passed away to visit the ancestral town (near the Uighur region) and consider the artifacts of the lives they led as active members of the Communist party. What is the duty that we owe to parents after they have passed away, and what can we do about the disconnect caused by emigration?

The free student admission and free reception afterward will feature lovely Chinese snacks, please come join us!
