The Graduate Asian American Studies Group,  an interdisciplinary graduate working group on studies of exchanges between Asia and the Americas at Penn, is having a mixer on Tuesday, October 6 from 5.30pm to 7.30pm at the Penn English Graduate Lounge  in Fisher–Bennett Hall Room 330 .There will be free food, drinks, and a relaxed environment where you may network with others with similar scholarly interests.

Sponsored by the Asian American Studies Program at the University of Pennsylvania, the Graduate Asian American Studies Group fosters intellectual exchange among graduate students and faculty regarding the movements of people, thoughts, and commodities between the broadly conceived geographic entity of "Asia" and the Americas across all time periods. We welcome participants from all fields and disciplines, such as literary, area, ethnic, gender/sexuality studies, anthropology, sociology, history, and political theory. We host monthly reading discussions and invite speakers to share their work in progress. Please contact Hao Jun Tam (Howie) at haot@sas.upenn.edu if you have any questions.
