Event
You are cordially invited to join us for a very special screening of Grace Lee's documentary film on the life and activism of Grace Lee Boggs. The event will take place this Monday, November 18 at 5:30 pm in Fisher-Bennett Hall, Room 401 and will be followed by a Q&A session with the filmmaker.
This event would not have been made possible without the generous co-sponsorship of our colleagues in English, Africana Studies, Asian American Studies, Cinema Studies, History, Urban Studies, Women's Studies, and the Social Science and Policy Forum.
After the screening, we invite you to join us in the English Department Faculty Lounge (FBH, Room 135) for a seminar discussion and dinner with our guest. This event will begin at 7:45 pm. In keeping with our theme for the semester, "Postcoloniality and Urban Geographies," we will be reading "Detroit, Place and Space to Begin Anew" from Grace Lee Bogg's 2011 book, The Next American Revolution. The chapter is attached below along with a copy of the poster for the event.
