Shaily Dadiala is a Choreographer, Dancer, Educator, Cultural Producer, and Instigator. She choreographs and performs original works rooted in the techniques of the Indian Classical dance style Bharatanatyam. She holds a B.A. equivalent from India where she was born and raised. As a multihyphenate Punjabi-American immigrant, her performances delve into points of intersection within the South Asian diaspora, translating and expanding them through multimodal dance She applies Bharatanatyam as a language telling universal stories. In 2008 she founded the nonprofit dance company Usiloquy Dance Designs. Her works have included live, full-length Indian dance productions, dance on spoken word, adaptation of audiobooks, choreography, and acting within Improv theater. Collaborations have included Philadelphia Asian Performing Arts, Fringe Wilmington Festival, and Penn Center for Experimental Anthropology.
