Asian America Across the Disciplines Series Spring 2022 presents Obed Arango, Exec. Director Centro de Cultura, Arte, Trabajo y Educación (CCATE)

Obed Arango Hisijara is a Mexican-Latinx photographer, visual artist, journalist, and university professor. He holds an MA in Cultural Anthropology, MA in Social Policy,and a BA in Communication Sciences. Obed is thefounder and executive director of the Centro de Cultura, Arte, Trabajo y Educación (CCATE), a non-profit organization that he founded in the year 2011, and that is located in Norristown, Pennsylvania, and whose mission is: “to ignite social change and social transformation developing the talents and empowering the Latinx community through education, art, culture, technology, health and science”. Obed Currently lectures at the School of Social Policy and Practice (SP2) at the University of Pennsylvania.
