Eva Nee (she/her) is a senior in the College of Arts and Sciences, majoring in
Biology with minors in Chemistry and Asian American Studies, from Titusville,
New Jersey. Her research project, titled “Evaluating lung cancer screening
eligibility criteria among Asian Americans at high risk for lung cancer,” seeks
to identify smoking-related risk factors to improve lung cancer screening
efficiency for Asian Americans. Because the current US Preventive Services
Task Force recommendation for lung cancer screening eligibility may
contribute to the underscreening of Asian American populations, the goal of
her project is equitable screening by improving early detection of lung cancer.
As a pre-medical student at Penn, she has enjoyed editing for The Daily
Pennsylvanian, running Penn’s Colleges Against Cancer club, and volunteering
at the Veterans Affairs hospital and for the Center for Surgical Health. In her
free time, she can be found collecting various plants, creating art, or trying
new restaurants.
