Brian majored in Biology and minored in Asian American Studies and Chemistry. He hopes to pursue an MD/MPH and utilize his career to address racial disparities in the health industry and provide medical care to vulnerable populations both within and outside the United States. At Penn, he was a co-founder of UNAIDS at Penn, the first collegiate chapter of the UNAIDS organization which advocates for awareness and funding toward the Philadelphia AIDS crisis by providing members with various volunteer and educational opportunities. His passion for social justice extends itself to his membership in the Shelter Health Outreach Program, which provides community health resources and blood pressure readings to local Philadelphia soup kitchens. He was also a member of Disney A Cappella and Alpha Iota Gamma, a pre-health society on campus. Within the Asian American community at Penn, Brian was involved in the Vietnamese Students’ Association, the ASAM UAB, and APALI, an Asian American-based discussion group. In his free time, Brian loves to cook, exercise, and drink tea.
