Anabel joined us from Cuba in 2019 as the program Assistant for CLALS and ASAM. She is currently full-time ASAM Program Assistant, assisting the program's daily operations, communications, event coordination, and administration. She has a Master's degree in Development Practice from The Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences (FLACSO) and a B. A. in Sociology from the University of Havana, 2011. She has an extensive experience in project management, event coordination, and communications. She worked for 7 years with local governments and international organizations as a researcher and advisor on local development and capacity building in vulnerable communities in Cuba. She is recipient of the 2021 University of Pennsylvania Pillars of Excellence Award.
