Congratulations, Samantha Hsiung, winner of the  Dr. Rosane Rocher Prize for Best Undergraduate Essay in Asian American Studies for "Maternal Marks: Reimagining PTSD as Inherited Monstrosity in Literature. 

Samantha Hsiung is a sophomore from the Bay Area studying English and Economics. She loves reading, creative writing, and fencing. Her favorite Asian American authors are Victoria Chang, Ocean Vuong, and Aria Aber. She hopes you have a lovely day.

Dr. Rocher, Professor Emerita of South Asia Studies, was the founding Director of ASAM and played an instrumental role in establishing the Pan Asian American Community House (PAACH).
