Anti-Asian propaganda on display in City Hall (Penn Today)
Rob Buscher of the School of Arts and Sciences contributed his collection of vintage anti-Asian propaganda to “American Peril,” an exhibition he hopes will help people understand the present-day vilification of Muslims. “These kinds of [anti-Muslim] conversations don’t come from nowhere,” he said.

American Peril Photography Exhibit 2020 at City Hall, 2nd and 4th Floor.
The exhibit "Faces of the Enemy" includes a portrait series by the photographer Justin L. Chiu, who depicts individuals directly impacted by the negative propaganda artifacts against the Japanese during WWII and after (1970’s) and Muslims after 9/11, etc.
The exhibit curated by ASAM professor Rob Buscher, also features ASAM Associate Director Fariha Khan as one of the faces portrayed.
The exhibition thanks to all the collaborators and to the Japanese American Citizens League and Philadelphia Asian Arts Film Festival.
