Time: April 5th (Wednesday), 1pm-2pm
Place: Fisher-Bennett Hall 330 (3340 Walnut St.)
Description: We will discuss 2 pieces of writing by Lisa Lowe, Distinguished Professor of English and Director of the Center for the Humanities at Tufts University. The first is a chapter from Lowe's first book, which is one of the founding texts of Asian American studies: Immigrant Acts (1996). The second piece is a chapter from Lowe's latest book, The Intimacies of Four Continents (2015).
These readings are rich and deserve to be studied with great attention. They are also a good preparation for Lisa Lowe's lecture the next day, Thursday, April 6, 4.30pm to 6pm, in Fisher-Bennett Hall 401. This is an English Department talk open to everyone from all departments.
