Evelyn Nakano Glenn's chapter "Labor: Freedom and Coercion" in her book Unequal Freedom: How Race and Gender Shaped American Citizenship and Labor (Harvard UP 2013) 2. Milliann Kang's "The Managed Hand: The Commercialization of Bodies and Emotions in Korean Immigrant-Owned Nail Salons" in the journal Gender and Society (2003).
