Spring Community Day on Pearl Street
Asian Arts Initiative is a local non-profit organization geared at promoting Asian & Asian American art around Philadelphia. Join ASAM’s Community Service Corps, a new opportunity for students to connect to communities throughout the city & pursue civic engagement, in helping AAI transform Pearl Street from an underutilized alley into a culturally vibrant shared “backyard.” Side by side with local residents. The clean-up is part of a larger effort to revitalize Pearl Street, & we need volunteer support — join us for an hour or two on:
Saturday, April 25th, 10am to 2pm
12th & Pearl Streets, Chinatown North
The first half of the day will be dedicated to neighborhood clean-up, focusing on the 1200-1300 blocks of Pearl Street and vicinity. The second half of the day includes lunch and art-making activities led by Asian Arts Initiative’s artists-in-residence, Groundswell Design Group, and the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society.
Free Septa tokens will be provided to and from the event
for the first 20 people to sign up.
