Tamara K. Nopper recently earned a PhD in sociology from Temple University. She currently serves as an adjunct assistant lecturer of Sociology and Asian American Studies at the University of Pennsylvania and Asian Studies and American Studies at Temple University. Her academic publications focus on U.S. government support of Korean immigrant entrepreneurship, the 1992 Los Angeles Riots, race and immigration enforcement, and racial ideologies and socioeconomic inequality. She is currently co-editing the anthology, Stand Up: The New Politics of Racial Uplift and a special issue of the journal Critical Sociology entitled “Race and the Variations of Discipline.”
